Semaglutide Injections (“Skinny Shot”)

At Aesthetic Plastic Surgical Institute, our board-certified plastic surgeon – Daniel C. Mills, MD, FACS – is committed to offering the latest proven treatments. As scientifically-backed weight loss injections rise in popularity, Dr. Mills and the rest of our team are excited to introduce the “Skinny Shot” to our list of medical spa services.

Also known under the generic name “semaglutide,” the “Skinny Shot” contains the same active drug found in Ozempic®, which is used to treat diabetes. Semaglutide has helped thousands of patients combat obesity with long-lasting results. The drug is known as “incretin mimetic,” which means it is designed to trigger the body’s insulin release and mimic the sensation of fullness in order to curb appetite.

The shot is administered once a week through a quick injection. Amazingly, many who take semaglutide are able to lose approximately 15% of their initial body weight; however, note that the drug is best used in combination with a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. Please also be aware that not everyone will be candidates for this injectable, as most patients are only deemed eligible if they have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher.

If you are interested in the Skinny Shot, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with Dr. Mills. He will gladly meet with you to help you learn more about this sought-after injection – from eligibility to side effects to pricing and beyond.
