Skin Care TreatmentsWe all desire healthy and radiant skin. Unfortunately, environmental factors, genetics and stress take a toll on our skin. Our experienced aestheticians offer a wide range of solutions to treat all skin types and problems, including acne, acne scarring, sun damage, age spots and fine line wrinkles. The goal of our skin care clinic is to help our patients re-gain and maintain the natural health, glow and texture of their skin. Our exfoliating treatments are designed to renew and rejuvenate the skin cells, with a goal of clear and youthful skin. Our aestheticians have varied skin treatments and will tailor a program to your personal goals and needs. Whether your skin is environmentally damaged, discolored, acne prone, hypersensitive, a special program can be designed to improve your skin appearance. Our patients with conditions like acne or rosacea (redness across the cheeks and nose) have commented that the treatments unclogged their pores, improving their skin tone and texture. Our Aestheticians have gone through extensive training, including advanced certification from Biomedic® . The goal of the Biomedic® clinical skin care program is to eliminate a micro-thin top layer of skin, revealing better skin clarity, tone and texture. The Biomedic® Micropeel and Micropeel Plus yield quicker and more dramatic results than a facial because they are more aggressive in addressing skin problems. Many of our patients with acne-prone and discoloration are thrilled that these treatments generally have no downtime and oftentimes, they no longer need cosmetic foundation to cover their skin flaws. In addition to facial treatments and microdermabrasion which require no down time, we offer different types and strengths of chemical peels to treat the skin. Our aestheticians offer light chemical peels, often referred to as "refresher peels" to exfoliate and generate a healthy skin tone and glow. The more aggressive chemical peels most often treat problems such as fine line wrinkles, melasma (e.g. "pregnancy mask," hyper/hypopigmentation), sun damage, age spots and acne scars. These peels usually have at least several days of down time, but produce more dramatic results that a light peel. If you are considering any type of deep peel, Dr. Mills and our aestheticians recommend that you do these in the wintertime, to reduce potential hyperpigmentation from sun exposure. Below is a list of the skin care services that we offer at Dr. Mills' office. Additionally, we sell Biomedic® , La-Roche Posay, Obagi® , Skin Medica, PrevageMD, Jan Marini, SkinCeuticals, Fenix, and Lip Enhancer by Physicians Complex. If you have any questions specific to skin care or would like a complementary skin care evaluation, you can call our office or email Megan from the contact page. We couldn't say it any better than our skin care clients: "I just want to take this opportunity to tell you what a difference Megan has made in my skin care regime and the look and feel of my skin. I initially went to the office for a consultation, as my skin was looking and feeling the ramifications of years of sun damage. I initially thought I would need a more drastic and invasive procedure to correct the problem. However, after meeting with Megan, she felt that she could correct the damage with a less invasive skin care regime. I started using Renova at night with a monthly Micropeel, done at the office. I was not sure what to expect from the Micropeel. "However, much to my surprise, it was quite enjoyable and just as comfortable as Megan said it would be. The Renova, combined with the Micropeel, has been a miracle for my skin. I now have the "peaches and cream" skin that I have so admired in other women. I highly recommend anyone who is not happy with the look and feel of their skin to contact Dr. Mills' office for a skin care consultation. The procedures and product lines are truly amazing!" - Megan Torres "I am obsessed with my skin! For the last five years, I have battled with the dreadful skin condition known as acne. Thankfully due to professional treatments and the nature of growing up I have virtually no acne presently. However, what acne left behind was the hardest to escape. Scarring, large pores, and uneven pigmentation were just a few of the side effects from acne. Lucky me got a fair portion of each. I had been in and out of every day spa imaginable. There was not a facial I had not experienced. Nothing was working hard enough for the circumstances that my skin was under. It wasn't until clinical skin professionals guided me on how to fix the problem. I was certain that my condition was unlike any others. I thought the skin on my face would be a misfortune that would haunt me for the rest of my life. I was wrong. It is not a fancy day spa that is going to fix problems like mine. - Leanne Schlinger Frequently Asked Questions What is the difference or advantage of going to a Doctor's office for my skin care needs (versus a spa)? Within a medical environment, we are able to dispense prescription-strength skin care products and use medical-grade equipment to treat your skin care needs, such as dark spots and premature aging. Great eyelashes don't just happen overnight. That's why it's important to note that LATISSE™ (bimatoprost ophthalmic solution) 0.03% works gradually and remarkably — starting at 4 weeks with full results after 16 weeks. Once you begin treatment, you could start to see results in as little as 4 weeks, but you must continue applying the topical treatment each night and follow the directions for best results. Remember results are gradual over time. Your eyelashes will experience real measurable growth. LATISSE™ works from the inside out. As the treatment progresses, you'll begin to see changes in length, thickness and darkness gradually. After week 16, you'll see the full effect of LATISSE™ — and so will others. Throughout clinical trials, some users did experience itchy eyes and eye redness. However, some users found that these irritations went away once they became accustomed to the product or began applying it properly. As with any prescription treatment, always consult with your doctor for information and proper usage of LATISSE™ solution. In the clinical study, 78% saw significant increases in all of the following three measurements at week 16: length, fullness and darkness. |
