Plastic Surgeon in Laguna Beach to Teach at ASAPS Annual Conference
Laguna Beach, CA — At the upcoming annual Aesthetic Meeting for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Daniel C. Mills MD, a plastic surgeon in Orange County, will be delivering a course instruction for attendees on breast asymmetry and a “Hot Topic” lecture on VASER liposuction and Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells. The course, titled Breast Asymmetry: Strategies for Improving Outcomes and Patient Satisfaction, will take place on Friday May 4, 2012 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. and will be taught by Dr. Dan Mills and Dr. Anne Taylor. Dr. Mills says he hopes the course will help educate surgeons about the complexities of identifying, categorizing, and treating breast asymmetry in an effort to enhance patient care and results.
The Aesthetic Meeting 2012 for ASAPS will be going on from May 3-8 at the Convention & Exhibition Center in Vancouver and features over 200 technical and scientific exhibits, hands-on cadaver workshops, and live demonstrations. Dr. Mills stresses the importance of regular attendance at continuing education events such as the ASAPS conference because they give plastic surgeons a chance to hone their skills and keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in techniques and technology. He says he looks forward to the opportunity to share his experience in helping patients correct breast asymmetry and is excited to promote the future of cosmetic enhancements: “Breast symmetry represents a high priority for patients. It is important for plastic surgeons to learn how best to achieve this goal for the patients through learning opportunities such as the ASAPS meeting and courses of this nature. Members share their experience with developing effective methods to help patients achieve their aesthetic enhancement goals.”
During his upcoming course on strategic approaches to improving breast asymmetry surgery, Dr. Mills says he hopes attendees will leave the presentation with a much more detailed outlook on performing breast surgery. He says the course is designed to help those in attendance correctly classify the many types of breast asymmetry based on current data, develop and execute a surgical treatment plan to improve patient deformities, and correctly identify and treat secondary breast asymmetry. More information regarding ASAPS lectures and Dr. Mills’ course can be found here.
In addition to the course on breast asymmetry surgery, Dr. Mills will also be giving a “Hot Topics” presentation titled, “3rd Generation UAL Viability of Fat Cells and ADRCS Using Established Standardized Methods.” Dr. Mills says the presentation focuses on the viability of Adipose tissue collected using the the VASER method of liposuction and whether this type of tissue is a suitable source for autologous fat grafts and Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells (ADRC).
Participating in continuing education courses and workshops is essential to a surgeon’s ability to provide patients with the safest and most effective treatments according to Dr. Mills. He encourages patients considering a cosmetic enhancement procedure to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who stays active in the medical community so as to ensure they receive top-quality care. As he looks forward to the event, Dr. Mills adds that he is excited for the opportunity to continue pursuing the most satisfactory outcomes for his patients through the ASAPS conference and all his educational endeavors: “ASAPS represents the most recent advances in aesthetic plastic surgery, which is why participation is paramount. ASAPS members are committed to using cutting-edge techniques proven to produce consistent results that satisfy their patients’ goals. I strive to grow and improve every day to ensure I maintain the highest levels of patient satisfaction and quality outcomes, and my involvement with ASAPS is an important part of making that happen.”

Orange County Plastic Surgery Practice Hosts Cosmetic Enhancement Special Event
Orange County, CA — In wake of the growing popularity of minimally invasive body contouring procedures such as Ulthera® and CoolSculpting®, Dr. Dan Mills, a plastic surgeon in Orange County, will be hosting a “Cool Night Out Event” to raffle off prizes and provide special offers to patients in attendance. Dr. Mills says non-invasive body and facial sculpting procedures have been taking the field of plastic surgery by storm, providing effective treatment in skin tightening and rejuvenation, and he is excited to help raise awareness about the new advancements in cosmetic enhancement.
The event will take place at his practice on Wednesday April 11, 2012 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and patients will have the chance to win several free prizes as well as other giveaways and offers. Space is limited, so patients must contact the office to RSVP at (949) 681-9956.
At his Orange County plastic surgery practice, the Aesthetic Plastic Surgical Institute, Dr. Mills provides services in a wide variety of aesthetic procedures ranging from breast augmentation and tummy tucks to facelifts and chemical peels. Thanks to the constantly evolving nature of cosmetic enhancements, he says innovative new procedures are beginning to rely less on scalpels and more on lasers and energy. With less cutting and invasive surgery, Dr. Mills says plastic surgery is moving towards faster recovery times and fewer scars, a direction he feels will help patients achieve the most natural, effective results possible in enhancing their appearance.
The “Cool Night Out Event” on April 11 at Dr. Mills’ practice will feature hors d’oeuvres, a skin care product raffle, free glycolic hand treatments for all attendees, and a raffle for a free CoolSculpting® procedure. Developed by Zeltiq, CoolSculpting® is a non-invasive alternative to liposuction that utilizes cooling technology to disrupt fat cells and slowly dispose of them through the body’s natural cleansing process. Dr. Mills says he has been impressed by the results of non-surgical procedures like CoolSculpting® and hopes patients begin taking advantage of the innovative treatments that are available now in cosmetic enhancement.
“For some people, surgery is not a choice they would make, so a non-surgical option is really the only option that they would choose for their own personal reasons. We are seeing a lot more non-invasive options that are not as dramatic as surgery, with essentially no recovery time,” says Dr. Mills
Dr. Mills’ practice has also been running a special introductory price on Ultherapy®, another non-invasive therapy that uses ultrasound technology to tighten the surface of skin. The offer allows patients to save up to $500 on a face and neck Ultherapy® procedure and will be running until April 30, 2012.
Dr. Mills says he is looking forward to the upcoming “Cool Night Out Event” because it offers him the opportunity to share his expertise and experience in non-surgical body contouring in Orange County. He says events like the one at his practice are an excellent way for patients to increase their knowledge about aesthetic procedures by learning firsthand from a board-certified plastic surgeon. Dr. Mills urges anyone considering plastic surgery to take the time to research their procedure extensively before deciding to undergo treatment. “The Coolsculpting event is important to our practice because we believe in educating our patients so they can make the right decision based on their goals and expectations,” he says.

3D Imaging Technology Now Available at Orange County Plastic Surgery Practice
Dan Mills MD, a board certified plastic surgeon in Orange County, CA, is announcing the recent adoption of the latest technology in 3D imaging at his practice. Vectra® 3D Imaging allows Dr. Mills to show patients their potential results before undergoing a cosmetic enhancement procedure.
Dr. Dan Mills is an Orange County, CA plastic surgeon, certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is announcing the implementation of Vectra® 3D Imaging at his practice, which allows him to show patients potential cosmetic enhancement results before their procedure. “Vectra allows a patient to visually see their body and asymmetries that already persist in ribs, breast size and shape. Vectra also helps patients visualize the different sizes, styles, and shapes of implants that may give a different appearance.”
Vectra® 3D imaging technology from Canfield provides patients with the chance to see potential results of a cosmetic enhancement procedure such as breast augmentation, rhinoplasty, or body contouring. Due to the impact these procedures can have on a patient’s physical appearance and overall confidence and self-esteem, Dr. Mills says adding the Vectra® 3D system to his practice is an important step in further improving patient care and satisfaction.
Dr. Mills says the magnitude of the impact surgical cosmetic procedures can have on a patient’s daily life is what led him to introduce the 3D imaging system. As he remains committed to helping patients achieve their cosmetic enhancement goals, he says providing them with a glimpse of the results can help further define those goals and create realistic expectations.
“Vectra can help patients better develop their cosmetic enhancement goals because they are able to see what the different shapes and sizes of implants would look like for each individual patient. It gives them a better idea of the difference between a high profile and low profile implant, or a C-cup versus a D-cup. Vectra also gives patients a real sense of being involved in the individual selection process of the size and shape of the implants, while remaining aware of the asymmetries that exist with every patient.”

In preparation for the upcoming holiday season, Orange County plastic surgeon Dr. Dan Mills will be hosting an aesthetic event on December 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. to celebrate the holiday season with food, fun, and special offers to new and current patients in attendance. Dr. Mills will also be providing live demonstrations of procedures and incentives for free treatments at the “Holiday Night of Beauty” held at his practice.
At his plastic surgery practice in Orange County, Dr. Dan Mills has announced that he will host a “Holiday Night of Beauty” aesthetic event to provide patients with plastic surgery special offers, appetizers, and live demonstrations of the latest procedures. On December 15 from 5 to 8 p.m., Dr. Mills and his staff will offer drawings and door prizes including reduced pricing and special discounts on BOTOX® Cosmetic and other aesthetic treatments at an open house to raise awareness about the benefits of cosmetic enhancement. Dr. Mills says he is excited about the event and the opportunity to display some of the newest advancements in plastic surgery techniques and technology so patients can have a better understanding of the safety and efficacy of aesthetic treatment. “This is a chance for us to enjoy the company of our patients, have fun with them, and show our appreciation for their faith and loyalty throughout the year. We have several new services and products that some of our patients have not had an opportunity to see and become educated about, and we’d like to share our excitement with them at a special holiday rate.”
The evening will include several special offers on skin care and dermal injection products along with drawings for free non-invasive procedures such as CoolSculpting®, the latest liposuction alternative that cools excess fat cells and causes them to break down and filter out of the body. Dr. Mills will be performing a live demonstration of the CoolSculpting® procedure during the event, along with a live seminar on the uplifting effects of Ultherapy®, a non-surgical ultrasound procedure designed to tighten and firm skin. He says patients can benefit from the chance to witness cosmetic procedures first-hand and get a better understanding of how the treatments are performed. “It’s sometimes hard for our patients to imagine that non-invasive procedures can be very effective with very little, or no discomfort. Live demonstrations help us to show patients exactly what to expect and alleviate any fear they might have. It is very nice for them to be able to talk right then and there to a patient who is having the procedure.”
In addition to the live expositions, Dr. Mills says patients in attendance will have the opportunity to take advantage of special discount pricing on cosmetic treatments ranging from BOTOX® Injections to skin care products and Latisse® eyelash enhancement. Plastic Surgeon in Orange County Discusses Mommy Makeover
According to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), more than 9.3 million cosmetic procedures were performed in 2010. One of the reasons for this increase could be due to a developing trend in the aesthetic healthcare industry known as the mommy makeover, which combines surgical and nonsurgical procedures to revitalize a mother’s post-baby body. Dr. Dan Mills says this combination of procedures is becoming a popular choice for women looking to reverse the aesthetic impact of pregnancy, and has played a role in the increase in procedures at his Orange County plastic surgery practice.
The number of cosmetic enhancement procedures performed in the U. S. increased nearly 9% from 2009-2010, according to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Orange County plastic surgeon Dr. Dan Mills says while much of this growth is likely due to the surging popularity of nonsurgical procedures, the mommy makeover likely had some impact as well.
The mommy makeover combines a number of cosmetic enhancement procedures, from breast augmentation to liposuction, tummy tucks to BOTOX® injections. However, Dr. Mills says each mommy makeover procedure is different because it is uniquely tailored to each patient’s specific needs and aesthetic enhancement goals. “No two pregnancies are the same, and no two women will need the same set of procedures to rejuvenate and revitalize their pre-pregnancy body. Some women may have skin laxity due to weight gain and subsequent weight loss, and require a surgical lift or tummy tuck, while some women may want to address the affects of nursing and want a breast augmentation of lift. I spend time with each patient to carefully address their concerns and help them look their best, as they see it.”
When he combines procedures such as breast augmentation or liposuction in Orange County, Dr. Mills says the full range of treatment can be addressed at one time, or over a series of appointments. He adds that recovery time depends on the procedure; however, he adds that patients undergoing a surgical procedure can expect at least one week of downtime and several weeks of avoiding strenuous activities.
Regardless of the procedures his patients ultimately choose, Dr. Mills says the mommy makeover allows mothers to address the aesthetic impact pregnancy has had on their bodies. “Looking and feeling great is a gift not just to themselves, but also to their families. Our patients realize that they provide the best care to others when they feel good about themselves. Most of our patients took very good care of their appearance before and during pregnancy, and need some extra help to achieve their best look when diet, exercise, and a healthy lifestyle are not enough post-pregnancy.”

Orange County Plastic Surgeon Offers New Patient Education Experience
More than half of all Americans now approve of cosmetic enhancement, according to the latest study from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). To further support this growing acceptance and enhance patient education at his Orange County plastic surgery practice, Dr. Dan Mills is adopting an interactive platform designed to improve communication with his patients. He adds that regardless of whether their enhancement goals include a surgical procedure such as breast augmentation, or nonsurgical treatment such as BOTOX® injections, he expects the new system will improve overall patient care.
A majority of Americans now approve of cosmetic enhancement, according to the latest statistics from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). Dr. Dan Mills, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Orange County and Board of Directors member for ASAPS, says he believes improved patient education and communication is essential to the continued acceptance of aesthetic procedures. He adds that this dedication to his patients is why he is implementing an interactive platform designed to streamline communication and improve patient education as they formulate their cosmetic enhancement goals and expectations.
Whether his patients are considering a tummy tuck, liposuction, or breast augmentation in Orange County, Dr. Mills says the interactive technology not only improves a patient’s experience during the in-office consultation, but also allows patients to access their diagnosis and potential outcome through the internet. “Touch MD is a wonderful advancement for my patients to follow along with their results. They can get into their own portal so they can follow along with their recovery, see their before and after photos, and watch educational videos to learn more about the procedures we offer. My patients also enjoy the ability to share information and photos with friends and family if they wish.”
With more than 9.3 million cosmetic procedures performed in 2010 according to the ASAPS study, Dr. Mills says concentrating on the individual patient’s understanding of the procedure they are considering can greatly influence the continued approval of cosmetic enhancement in general. “Knowledge promotes self-empowerment. Ensuring our patients have a good understanding of their procedures leads to greater success.”

Dr. Dan Mills Will Present on Breast Asymmetry at 2011 ASAPS Meeting
As a plastic surgeon in Orange County, CA certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS), Dr. Dan Mills says the desire to address breast asymmetry is a common goal for many women, which he believes is a contributing factor to the popularity of procedures such as breast augmentation or breast reduction. At the 2011 symposium of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, Dr. Mills will address the overwhelming popularity of breast enhancement, and conduct a course based on his innovative approach to addressing asymmetry of the breasts.
According to the most recent stats from the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), 9.3 million cosmetic procedures were performed in the United States in 2010, with breast enhancements accounting for more than 500,000 of that total. At the upcoming 2011 symposium hosted by ASAPS in Boston this May 6-10, Dan C. Mills, MD, FACS will discuss the popularity of procedures such as breast augmentation and breast reduction during a course that will focus on his approach to breast asymmetry at his Orange County plastic surgery practice.
With cosmetic breast enhancement accounting for over 36% of all surgical procedures performed in 2010, Dr. Mills says creating a balanced aesthetic appearance is always the goal. He adds that breast asymmetry can have a significant impact on a woman’s self-confidence, which is why he believes the upcoming course at the ASAPS symposium is important.
By participating in such courses and addressing common patient concerns and expectations, Dr. Mills says plastic surgeons like him can be more prepared for changes in the field of cosmetic surgery, and empower patients as they strive to improve not only their self-image, but their quality of life as well. He adds that regardless of whether a patient is considering surgical or nonsurgical aesthetic enhancement, breast augmentation or breast reduction, plastic surgeons must remember each patient is unique and requires an individual approach.

Dr. Mills Performs First Pure Fat Graft in Orange County
Dr. Dan Mills recently performed the first Cytori PureGraft™ fat graft aesthetic enhancement procedure in Orange County. At the Aesthetic Plastic Surgical Institute, Dr. Mills’ patient desired a mommy makeover that included a combination of procedures such as liposuction, a butt lift, and a mini tummy tuck in Orange County. Dr. Mills said the Cytori PureGraft™ System is much more efficient because it prepares the fat as it is harvested, which requires much less time than traditional methods.
In the past, the patient’s fat would simply be discarded when he performed procedures that included liposuction in Orange County. However, in this particular case, the patient expressed a desire to avoid using synthetic fat grafts when performing the butt lift, which was made possible by the innovative Cytori system.
Contact the Aesthetic Plastic Surgical Institute today for more information on regarding the Cytori PureGraft™ System, or to schedule a consultation today.
